Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity in Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine
Location: Near Kalamazoo, MI
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
We are currently seeking board-certified physicians for a rewarding locum tenens opportunity specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine. This position offers the flexibility to work on a PRN basis, supporting veterans with essential health assessments.
Job Details:
- Position: Physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine
- Schedule: PRN basis with flexible shifts, including options for half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours)
- Exam Types:
- Non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
- Separation health assessments
- Exam Focus:
- Primarily interview-based assessments
- Includes physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Evaluation of traumatic brain injuries
- Mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury evaluations
- Treatment: No prescribing or treatment required
Coverage Options:
- Travel to perform exams at leased facilities
- Schedule Veterans within your own practice
Additional Requirements:
- Board Certification: Must be board-certified in one of the following specialties:
- Neurology
- Neurosurgery
- Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- State License: Michigan
- Technology: Must have a personal laptop (no MACs)
- Skills and Proficiencies:
- Proficient in using a goniometer
- Familiar with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions
- Skilled in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
Benefits and Training:
- Credentialing: Quick credentialing and onboarding
- Certification: DMA certification available (CME credits offered); certification required once privileged, not reimbursed by the client
- Training: Provided for Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Reporting: DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours of exam completion (no narrative reports needed; standardized forms required)
