Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity in Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine


Location: Near Le Mars, IA
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing


We are seeking board-certified physicians for a locum tenens position to provide a combination of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury exams. This flexible opportunity allows you to support veterans by conducting important health assessments without the responsibility of ongoing treatment.


Key Details:



  • Position: Physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine

  • Shift Type: Days (PRN basis)

  • Schedule Options:

    • Half-days (4 hours)

    • Full days (8 hours)




Responsibilities:



  • Exam Types:

    • Non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams

    • Separation health assessments



  • Exam Focus:

    • Interview-based assessments

    • Physical assessments including range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, and evaluation of traumatic brain injuries

    • A mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury evaluations



  • Treatment: No prescribing or ongoing treatment involved


Coverage Options:



  • Travel: Perform exams at designated facilities

  • Schedule Veterans within your own practice


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Must be certified in one of the following specialties:

    • Neurology

    • Neurosurgery

    • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)



  • State License: Must hold an active license in Iowa

  • Technology: Personal laptop required (no MACs)

  • Skills and Proficiencies:

    • Proficient in using a goniometer

    • Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions

    • Expertise in METs testing, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological diagnosis
