Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity in Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine
Location: Near Le Mars, IA
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
We are seeking board-certified physicians for a locum tenens position to provide a combination of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury exams. This flexible opportunity allows you to support veterans by conducting important health assessments without the responsibility of ongoing treatment.
Key Details:
- Position: Physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine
- Shift Type: Days (PRN basis)
- Schedule Options:
- Half-days (4 hours)
- Full days (8 hours)
Responsibilities:
- Exam Types:
- Non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
- Separation health assessments
- Exam Focus:
- Interview-based assessments
- Physical assessments including range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, and evaluation of traumatic brain injuries
- A mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury evaluations
- Treatment: No prescribing or ongoing treatment involved
Coverage Options:
- Travel: Perform exams at designated facilities
- Schedule Veterans within your own practice
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Must be certified in one of the following specialties:
- Neurology
- Neurosurgery
- Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- State License: Must hold an active license in Iowa
- Technology: Personal laptop required (no MACs)
- Skills and Proficiencies:
- Proficient in using a goniometer
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions
- Expertise in METs testing, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological diagnosis
