Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity in Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine


Location: Near Red Bluff, CA
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing


We are looking for board-certified physicians to fill a locum tenens position focusing on Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine. This flexible opportunity allows you to support veterans by conducting important health assessments with no ongoing treatment responsibilities.


Position Details:



  • Profession: Physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury and General Medicine

  • Schedule: PRN basis, with options for half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours)

  • Exam Types:

    • Non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams

    • Separation health assessments



  • Exam Focus:

    • Interview-based assessments

    • Physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing

    • Evaluating traumatic brain injuries

    • Combination of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury evaluations



  • Treatment: No prescribing or treatment required


Coverage Options:



  • Travel to perform exams at leased facilities

  • Schedule Veterans within your own practice


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Must be board-certified in one of the following specialties:

    • Neurology

    • Neurosurgery

    • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)



  • State License: California

  • Technology: Must have a personal laptop (no MACs)

  • Skills and Proficiencies:

    • Proficient in using a goniometer

    • Familiar with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions

    • Experienced in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
