We are seeking experienced and board-certified Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, specializing in Critical Care/Intensive Care, for a locum tenens position near Eloy, AZ. Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:




  • Inpatient Critical Care:



    • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in an inpatient setting.

    • Manage 18-20 patients per shift, ensuring timely assessments, treatments, and follow-ups.

    • Collaborate with attending physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

    • Participate in patient rounding to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.

    • Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient record management.




  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration:



    • Work closely with a team of specialists, including intensivists, to provide coordinated and effective care.

    • Engage in regular communication with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

    • Provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand their condition and treatment plan.




  • Critical Care Skills:



    • Perform critical care procedures as required, such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and intubation.

    • Manage complex cases with confidence, drawing on your experience in critical care and intensive care settings.

    • Stay updated on the latest best practices and protocols in critical care to provide the best possible care to your patients.




Practice Details:



  • Patient Population: Adults requiring intensive care

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient (Hospital-Based)

  • On Call: No call requirements, allowing for a balanced work schedule.

  • Support Staff: Work with a well-trained team that includes nurses, intensivists, and other critical care specialists.


Requirements:



  • Licensure: Must hold a current Arizona state license for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.

  • Board Certification: Required in Critical Care/Intensive Care.

  • Certifications:

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Required

    • ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Required

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) Required



  • Experience: Significant experience in critical care settings is preferred.

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 90-120 days for full credentialing.
