Locum Tenens Opportunity: Family Practice Physician Near Blakely Island, WA


We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician for a locum tenens position near Blakely Island, WA. This opportunity is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis, with an initial contract length of three months and the possibility of extension. This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, with a standard Monday to Friday schedule. Optional Saturday hours are available for overtime at an enhanced rate.


Position Overview:



  • Specialty: Family Practice

  • Start Date: ASAP, as soon as credentialed

  • Contract Length: 3 months, with potential to extend

  • Shift Details: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

  • Work Hours: 8-hour workday with a 1-hour unpaid lunch

  • Optional Overtime: Saturday hours available


Work Environment:



  • Practice Setting: Outpatient ambulatory setting in a Community Health Center

  • Support Staff:

    • Dedicated medical assistant for each provider

    • Receptionist

    • Onsite mental health therapists, dietitians, and pediatricians

    • Local health care administrator for timesheet submissions



  • Patient Population: Newborns to geriatrics; provider should be comfortable with all age groups

  • Patient Volume: Up to 18 patients per day

  • Department Description:

    • Focus on family medicine, walk-in/acute care services, and chronic disease management

    • Providers should have experience in or a desire to work with vulnerable populations, including migrants and refugees (interpretative services available onsite)

    • Special Procedures: Basic procedures including injections, IUD placement, and minor wound care




Travel and Accommodation:



  • Travel Logistics: Client covers flights, rental cars, or mileage, and lodging


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required

  • License: Active Washington state license required; non-licensed candidates will not be considered

  • DEA: Active Washington DEA required

  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, or others as discussed during credentialing (provider responsible for obtaining any required certifications)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an FNP required

    • Recent face-to-face patient contact within the past year

    • Clean background with no malpractice history




Additional Details:



  • Orientation: 1-week onsite orientation with expectation to begin patient care by day 3

  • EMR System: EPIC
