We are currently seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a locum tenens position near Edmonds, WA. This role is ideal for a skilled nurse practitioner with experience in family practice and a desire to work in a fast-paced, community health setting. The initial contract is for 3 months, with the possibility of an extension based on performance and availability.


Position Overview:



  • Profession: Nurse Practitioner

  • Specialty: Family Practice

  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed

  • Contract Length: 3 months, with potential to extend

  • Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week (with 1-hour unpaid lunch)

    • Optional: Saturday hours available for overtime pay



  • Schedule: Monday-Friday (40 hours/week)

    • Part-Time Option: Local candidates may be considered for a minimum of 3 days per week if housing is not required




Work Responsibilities:



  • Patient Volume: Up to 18 patients per day (depending on cancellations)

  • Patient Population: Newborns to geriatrics, must be comfortable with all age groups

  • Support Team:

    • Dedicated medical assistant for each provider

    • On-site receptionist, mental health therapists, and dietitians

    • Most clinics have an on-site pediatrician and local health care administrator



  • Setting: Outpatient ambulatory clinic focused on family medicine, walk-in/acute care, and chronic disease management

    • Providers may see same-day walk-in patients



  • Procedures: Basic family practice procedures such as injections, IUD placements, and minor wound care

  • EMR System: EPIC


Key Skills & Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required

  • License: Active Washington State NP license required

  • DEA: Active Washington DEA required

  • Certifications: May be required (BLS, ACLS, etc.), and the provider is responsible for obtaining them

  • Experience: At least 2 years of FNP experience required, with recent face-to-face patient contact within the past year

  • Special Skills: Ability to hit the ground running; orientation lasts 1 week, and providers are expected to begin patient care by day 3

  • Background: Must have a clean background; no malpractice history will be considered

  • Community Health Experience: Experience working in community health centers or with underserved populations (, migrants, refugees) is preferred. Interpretation services are available on-site, and bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Credentialing Timeframe: 2-3 weeks
