Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine NP Near Frederic, MI


We are actively seeking dedicated General Medicine Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for a locum tenens role near Frederic, MI. This is an ASAP - Ongoing opportunity, offering flexibility and the chance to make a significant impact in the field of Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Position Overview:

  • End Date: Ongoing


Key Responsibilities:




  • Coverage Options:



    • Travel to perform exams at a leased facility or schedule Veterans within your own practice.

    • Flexibility to work either days (4-hours) or full days (8-hours).




  • Exams and Assessments:



    • Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments.

    • Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.

    • No prescribing or treatment required.




  • Administrative Details:



    • Quick credentialing and onboarding process.

    • DMA certification is available (can earn CME credits) and must be obtained once privileged if not already certified.

    • Use of Goniometer required.

    • Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions is essential.

    • Proficiency in METs testing, and evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.

    • Must have a personal laptop (no Macs).




  • Reporting Requirements:



    • Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).

    • Reporting/DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion; no narrative report required. End product is the completion of standardized forms.

    • Evaluations to be completed in the provider portal.

    • Record review is required in most cases.

    • Regular follow-up administrative work including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.




Certification and Licensing:



  • Certification Requirements: AANP Certification

  • State License Requirements: Active Michigan License
