Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Nurse Practitioner Near Mc Quady, KY


We are seeking a qualified and compassionate General Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a locum tenens opportunity near Mc Quady, KY. This position offers a unique and flexible opportunity for NPs to perform Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments for veterans. This role is ideal for NPs with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine who are looking for a non-treatment focused role.


Position Overview:



  • Profession: Nurse Practitioner (NP)

  • Shift Type: Days

    • Option for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.




Responsibilities:



  • Primary Duties:

    • Conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.

    • Exams are primarily interview-based, with some physical assessments including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.

    • No prescribing or treatment is required.

    • Utilize a goniometer and be proficient in METs testing.

    • Evaluate and diagnose musculoskeletal, diabetes, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions.



  • Reporting:

    • Complete and submit standardized Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion. No narrative report is required.

    • Record review is required in most cases.

    • Follow-up administrative work may include addendums, medical opinions, and reviewing diagnostics.

    • Providers must have their own personal laptop (no Macs) to complete evaluations in the provider portal.




Candidate Requirements:



  • Licensure:

    • Must hold a current Kentucky state license.



  • Certifications:

    • AANP certification is required.



  • Experience:

    • Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions.

    • Experience with METs testing, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological evaluations is essential.
