Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Nurse Practitioner Near McGregor, ND


We are seeking experienced General Medicine Nurse Practitioners for a rewarding locum tenens opportunity near McGregor, ND. This position is ideal for NPs looking to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans on an as-needed basis. Work Schedule



  • Shift Description: PRN - as needed basis

  • Coverage Options:

    • Travel and perform exams at leased facilities

    • Schedule veterans within your own practice



  • Shift Length:

    • Half days (4 hours)

    • Full days (8 hours)




Job Responsibilities



  • Examinations:

    • One-time, non-treatment C&P exams

    • Separation health assessments



  • Exam Components:

    • Primarily interview-based with some physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing)

    • No prescribing or treatment involved



  • Documentation:

    • Quick credentialing and onboarding process

    • Use of Goniometer required

    • Complete and submit Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion

    • Evaluations completed in the provider portal

    • Record reviews required in most cases

    • Follow-up administrative work required regularly (addendums, medical opinions, reading diagnostics)




Requirements



  • Certification:

    • Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)



  • License:

    • Active license in North Dakota



  • Skills and Experience:

    • Familiar with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions

    • Proficient in METs testing, and evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions

    • Must have own personal laptop (NO MACs)

    • Ability to obtain DMA certification (can earn CME credits)
