The Pain Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) plans, directs and manages the clinical activities of the Outpatient Pain Management Service. The NP works in conjunction with the Pain Management Team to provide an advanced level of care to patients undergoing pain medicine therapies. Specialty care provided includes initial and follow-up assessments/evaluations, prescribing protocol medications/management modalities and ordering follow-up services. The NP provides pain management education and leads policy and procedure development for this targeted population. The NP monitors patient outcomes and initiates/participates in quality improvement activities. This role serves as a primary liaison for all disciplines and services interfacing with the Pain Clinic.
