Pediatric Oncology NP

The Oncology unit at the Philadelphia campus is a 60 bed, blended acuity, multidisciplinary unit caring for patients with general oncology & liquid oncology diagnoses as well solid organ tumors
APPs are involved in daily multidisciplinary bedside rounds to determine a treatment plan with an attending physician, order placement, daily documentation, procedures, writing and managing chemotherapy orders and treatment and patient/family education
APPs perform LPs, Bone Marrow aspirates and skin biopsies. Team members are also active in quality improvement, harm prevention, evidenced based practice and research.
Currently our team consists of 15 Nurse Practitioners and the team works closely with hospital physicians and attending physicians from the Department of Oncology to provide 24/7 coverage 365 days per year.
The Oncology unit will have 8 beds with a dedicated team to care for general, solid, liquid and bone marrow transplant patients in collaboration with an attending physician.
