Locum Tenens Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity Near Eugene, OR


We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a Locum Tenens position near Eugene, OR. This role offers a fantastic working environment and ample opportunities for professional growth.

Job Description:




  • Responsibilities:



    • Manage mental health problems and coordinate health and wellness programs for patients.

    • Adhere to State and Federal rules and regulations, and follow nursing standards of care.

    • Provide care for adult-only patients, including those with acute and acutely chronic mental illnesses.

    • Work within a facility that has 13 inpatient beds, alongside 1 MD and 1 PNP on site.




  • Skills and Abilities:



    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.

    • Ability to work effectively with various departments and the public.

    • Proficiency in using a personal computer and relevant software programs.

    • Commitment to ongoing educational growth and collaborative problem-solving for patient care.




  • Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:



    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.

    • Physical agility to respond quickly to unexpected patient care needs.

    • Adequate hearing, visual acuity, and color vision.

    • Fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and ability to handle objects.

    • Ability to use proper body mechanics for patient transfers and ambulation.

    • Must use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and occasionally use a personal computer.

Certification Requirements:



  • Board Certified

  • Active Oregon License required
