We are actively seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a full-time, permanent position with a highly regarded healthcare facility near Mapleton, OR. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with strong ties to Oregon to contribute to a comprehensive range of mental health services for adult-only inpatient care.


Position Details:



  • Location: Near Mapleton, Oregon (South Coast area)

  • Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

  • Shift: Varied shifts with on-call requirements; some weekend coverage may be required

  • Patient Type: Adult inpatient, including acute and acutely chronic mental health cases

  • Unit: 13-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, supported by an on-site MD and a Psychiatric NP


Essential Requirements:



  • Licensure: Active Oregon NP license (or in process at the time of submission)

  • Certification: Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in 100% inpatient psychiatric care, excluding prior RN experience, training, or mixed inpatient/outpatient roles

  • Oregon Ties: Candidates must have lived in or have strong family connections in Oregon


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage and provide direct psychiatric care, in compliance with federal and state regulations and professional nursing standards.

  • Coordinate mental health treatment and wellness initiatives for patients within the assigned facility.

  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Skills and Abilities:



  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with colleagues and patients

  • Independent Thinking: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong capacity to engage effectively across departments and with the public

  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using computers and relevant software for patient management


Physical and Environmental Requirements:



  • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and bending

  • Good physical agility and reaction time for responding to patient needs

  • Standard precautions for exposure to bodily fluids are required
