Retina Specialist Physician Opportunity near LONG ISLAND CITY, NY
We are currently looking for a skilled physician specializing in ophthalmology with a focus on medical and/or surgical retina to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. This is a permanent position, and we welcome applications from both experienced individuals with 2 years or more of experience and newly trained retina fellows.

Responsibilities:
- Review patient medical history, reports, and examination results.
- Conduct retinal examinations and interpret various tests (OCT, photos, fluorescein angiograms, etc.).
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for a variety of vitro-retinal conditions.
- Perform office-based procedures, including intravitreal injections, photocoagulation, and laser procedures.
- For surgical retinal specialists, conduct weekly outpatient surgical procedures such as vitrectomy, scleral buckling, membrane peeling, and macular hole repair.
- Prescribe medications and develop ongoing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, internal and external optometrists and ophthalmologists.
- Provide relationship-centered care, considering psychosocial and physical patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Communicate effectively with the clinical team.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent.
- Completion of a three-year postgraduate medical training program in ophthalmology from a accredited residency.
- Completion of a medical or medical-surgical retina fellowship, preferably registered with AUPO-FCC.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
- Current, unrestricted New York State license or eligibility for licensure.
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility.
- Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
