Locum Tenens Ophthalmologist Opportunity - Near Muskegon, MI


We are seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist for a locum tenens position near Muskegon, MI. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled physician looking to contribute to a hospital-based practice. The role focuses on trauma care, and coverage will include call responsibilities. Position Details:



  • Specialty: Ophthalmology

  • Shift Type: 24-hour shifts

  • On-Call Requirements: Yes, one week per month

  • Practice Setting: Hospital-based

  • Reason for Coverage: Trauma care


Patient Care & Procedures:



  • Patient Demographics: 100% adult and geriatric patients

  • Average Number of Patients: 1-2 per month

  • Practice Composition:

    • 50% Non-surgical

    • 50% Surgical and Laser procedures



  • Required Clinical Areas: Non-surgical, surgical, and invasive procedures

  • Other Ophthalmologists: Yes, additional ophthalmologists will provide coverage during locum tenens dates


Additional Information:



  • Trauma Level: Level 2 facility

  • EMR System: Epic

  • Call Schedule: One week per month


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required in Ophthalmology

  • State License: Michigan license required

  • Certifications: BLS/ACLS not required unless performing moderate or deep sedation

  • Experience: Must have expertise in trauma care for adult and geriatric patients


Credentialing:



  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 3 months

  • Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing

  • Emergency/Temporary Privileges: Not available
