Position Details:



  • Location: Montana, near Hardin

  • Role: Locum Tenens Otolaryngologist

  • Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center with Level 3 pediatric care

  • Start Date: January 1, 2025

  • End Date: Ongoing coverage required

  • Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus call

  • Call Details: Beeper call with a 20-minute response time required; coverage includes both inpatient and outpatient call responsibilities


Practice Setting and Requirements:



  • Patient Care: Inpatient and outpatient, with hospital admissions required

  • Patient Volume: Variable, based on shift and department needs

  • Specialty Skills: General Otolaryngology, Surgical and Non-Surgical Procedures

    • Key Procedures: Septal, Sinus, Endoscopic, Laryngoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Tracheotomy, Thyroidectomy, Parotidectomy, Radical Neck Surgery, Facial Reconstruction, Blepharoplasty, and Rhinoplasty

    • Advanced Skills: Experience in complex head and neck procedures is preferred



  • Rounding: Required for both inpatient and outpatient care


Certification and Licensing Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required, with eligibility acceptable

  • Fellowship: Preferred but not required

  • Licensure: Must be licensed in Montana or eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)

  • Certification Needs: ACLS and BLS are required


Support and Resources:



  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

  • Support Staff: Includes RN, MA, PA/NP, and administrative office support

  • Privileges and Credentialing: Hospital and surgery center privileges required, with a credentialing timeframe of approximately 90 days

  • Insurance and Travel: Insurance provided by vendor; nearby airport is Billings Logan International Airport, with lodging options available nearby
