Our established healthcare facility is actively searching for a skilled and dedicated PA-C to join our team and provide comprehensive inpatient care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. What You'll Do:



  • Participate actively in hospital services as assigned, working 4-10 hour shifts with a rotating schedule that includes weekends.

  • Conduct thorough patient history taking and physical examinations for a diverse population experiencing cardiac issues.

  • Order and/or perform essential diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests (nuclear, pharmacological, and exercise), chest x-rays, and more.

  • Analyze patient medical history, physical exam findings, and diagnostic/laboratory data to create tailored treatment plans.

  • Assist the on-call cardiologist with daily patient rounds, new consultations, and emergency triage in the Emergency Department (ED) for NSTEMI/STEMI cases.

  • Document daily patient progress notes for shared-visits with the on-call cardiologist.

  • Keep the on-call cardiologist informed of any changes in patient condition, ensuring continuity of care.

  • Collaborate with the on-call cardiologist to develop treatment plans for new consultations.

  • Generate patient discharge summaries, discharge orders, and comprehensive education and follow-up plans for NSTEMI/STEMI patients.

  • Admit and perform a history and physical on patients undergoing antiarrhythmic therapy.

  • Monitor QTc intervals for patients taking antiarrhythmic medications, following physician directives.

  • Reconcile medications between hospital discharge and home medication regimens, prescribing new medications as needed.

  • Provide daily patient education on cardiac conditions, treatment options, medications, and prognosis.

  • Assist the on-call cardiologist in triaging patient consultations and needs.

  • Communicate effectively with the on-call cardiologist, hospital services, nursing staff, and other support staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination.

  • Order cardiovascular procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and pacemaker implantations as directed by the supervising cardiologist.

  • Manage weekend calls from nursing staff and the outpatient cardiology clinic, ensuring continuity of care from Friday 5:00 pm to Monday 7:00 am.

  • Assist in ACLS/BLS resuscitation efforts as directed by supervising physicians.

  • Perform device interrogations, reprogramming, and deactivation of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) in end-of-life care situations, following physician recommendations.

  • Perform pacemaker interrogations and interpret rhythm data as directed by supervising physicians.

  • Assist supervising physicians with suturing pacemaker pockets and implanting loop recorders.


Who You Are:



  • A highly motivated PA-C with a Washington state license to practice medicine and prescriptive authority.

  • A valid CPR/ACLS certification is required.

  • Prior experience in cardiology is highly desired, but not mandatory.

  • A Cardiology PA-C specialty certification is preferred.

  • This role primarily involves working in inpatient exam and treatment rooms, where space may be limited at times.
