Locum Tenens Psychiatrist Opportunity - Near Winston-Salem, NC


We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity near Winston-Salem, NC. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment with experienced staff. The position requires coverage on a scheduled basis with no call responsibilities, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.


Position Details:



  • Specialty: Psychiatry

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no weekends

  • Shift: Standard day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

  • Coverage Type: Scheduled with no call responsibilities

  • Block Scheduling: Not required


Support Staff:



  • 3 APPs in UC/observation unit

  • Either an APP or resident in the FBC

  • APP in each ED unit


Work Responsibilities:



  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Tele-psych capabilities available

  • Average Patient Load:

    • Group size: 6 patients

    • Urgent care: 10-20 patients daily



  • Patient Age Group:

    • UC: Ages 5 and above

    • Patients under 16 requiring observation or FBC services will be referred to another facility nearby.




Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Psychiatry required

  • State License: North Carolina

  • Certifications: BLS and DEA required

  • Experience: Must be comfortable triaging children and adolescents.

  • Vaccinations: Mandatory
