We have numerous opportunities for an experienced Pulm/CC Physician with highly competitive pay rates in Cedar Rapids, IA. Position Details:
Board Cert:Must be BC Pulmonology and BC Critical Care or BE (within 3 years of becoming eligible)
License?Iowa license or IMLC
Flight or driving?Within driving distance if possible. Little or no malpractice.
How many shifts per month?See specific dates above, then 7-10 shifts per month
Pulm Clinic and cover ICU?No, will not work in Pulm clinic. Hospital side only, covering ICU, inpatients and call coverage.
Call Coverage?Yes, 24/7 call coverage, They will be on call every day that they work.
Cover both hospitals?Yes, Covers both Waterloo and Cedar Falls Medical Centers-consults, procedures and cover ICUs
WMC - 12 bed open ICU (primary work site)
CFMC- 5 bed open ICU
How many patients?Hard to say, but generally 15-20 patients between the two hospitals
Admit patients?Generally no, they are not the admitting provider, only the consulting provider. Most patients are admitted to their PC or the hospitalist team.
Procedures?Intubation, central line, bronchoscopy, art lines, vents
Hospitalist Role
Hospitalist assist but if one of our Pulm CC physicians admit, then Pulm CC on call physician is responsible. Hospitalists are generally the admitting and we serve a consultative role. Our Hospitalists do not do vent management, etc.
