Seeking Radiation Oncologist for Immediate Locum Tenens Coverage


An exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for a Radiation Oncologist, with the assignment scheduled from March 16th to March 21st. This unique opportunity requires the provider to cover daily responsibilities, including consultations, treatment plan approvals, and oversight of radiation treatments. Additionally, weekly patient visits within the department and potential hospital consultations are part of the responsibilities.


Assignment Details



  • Dates: March 16th to March 21st

  • Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday: 8 am to 5 pm

    • Night call & 24-hour call on Saturday and Sunday



  • Coverage Hours: The locum provider will cover call requirements, reporting 9 hours during the day (8 am to 5 pm) and a 15-hour night call shift (5 pm to 8 am) on weekends. Hospital consultations for radiation therapy may be required.

  • Duties: The locum will see patients once a week and be available during their treatment.

  • FTE: Full-time ()

  • Required Procedures: Typical Radiation Oncology procedures

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Support Staff: Clinic Staff

  • Reason for Coverage: Provider vacation


Additional Facility Details



  • Patient Volume: Averaging 38-50 patients under treatment daily

  • Treatment Approach: The locum will see patients once a week but be available during their treatment. The facility offers low dose rate brachytherapy, and there is full-time RN staffing and medical assistant support.


Credentialing Information



  • Timeframe: AR License (4-8 weeks), hospitalist privileges (2-4 weeks)

  • Requirements: AR license and DEA

  • Credentialing with Other Facilities: No


Travel Preferences



  • Lodging: Preferred hotels

  • Air Travel: Local, preferred

  • Special Requests: Any anticipated travel exceptions, such as dietary restrictions necessitating specific lodging situations, should be clearly communicated.
