Radiation Oncologist - Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Worcester, MA
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens position near Worcester, MA. This opportunity offers a chance to provide crucial coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings, starting ASAP and continuing through summer 2025. You will be part of a dedicated team, helping to bridge gaps in care while we recruit for a permanent position. This role requires a commitment to high-quality patient care, with the flexibility to handle a diverse range of radiation oncology procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide radiation oncology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 outpatient visits per day, with variable inpatient responsibilities (approximately 1 per week).
- Perform a range of radiation therapy procedures, including:
- Conventional Radiotherapy
- 3D Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT)
- Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
- Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
- Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy
- Order and interpret tests and imaging, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- Collaborate with a team of two Radiation Oncologists and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize the Meditech/Mosaiq EMR system to document patient interactions and treatment plans.
Schedule and Details:
- Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM.
- Weekend Call: 48-hour weekend call every other weekend (8:00 AM Saturday to 8:00 AM Monday).
- Location: Near Worcester, MA.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- End Date: Ongoing, through summer 2025.
- Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient.
- Call Ratio: Every other weekend.
- Credentialing: Approximately 60 days.
- Local Provider Preferred: Only mileage will be reimbursed.

Qualifications:
- Required: Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist with a valid DEA license.
- Experience: Proficiency in a range of radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT, SBRT, and SRS.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
- Documentation: Familiarity with Meditech/Mosaiq EMR systems is preferred.
