Interventional Radiology Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Roseville, CA


Job Details:


We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Radiologist for a locum tenens position near Roseville, CA. This opportunity offers a chance to provide critical services in a General Acute Care Hospital that is stroke-certified but not a trauma-designated facility. The position is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis, offering stability and flexibility for qualified candidates.


Key Details:



  • Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing

  • Shift Type: Day shifts with night call after 4:30 PM

  • Shift Hours:

    • Day: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

    • Night Call: Begins after 4:30 PM



  • Weekend Requirements: Yes

  • On Call Requirements: Yes

  • Practice Setting: General Acute Care Hospital

  • Support Staff:

    • Radiology Nurses and Technicians

    • Large Radiology group for overflow and after-hours reads



  • Duties Include:

    • Hospital coverage, including Interventional Radiology (IR) needs and stroke CTs

    • IR Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest tubes, Suprapubic catheters

    • CT/US-guided biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, etc.)

    • Barium studies and lumbar punctures



  • Patients Per Day: Varies based on hospital needs


Certification Requirements:



  • Board Certification/Eligibility: Required in Radiology

  • Required Certifications:

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration registration)



  • Licensure: Active California medical license required


Preferred Experience:



  • Procedural Skills: Expertise in Interventional Radiology procedures, including stroke CTs and other emergency department and ICU imaging studies

  • EMR System: Experience with Cerner preferred
