Meaningful Impact: Make a lasting contribution by filling a medical leave vacancy until January 31st, 2025. Play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care for our vascular patients.
Diverse Clinical Experience: This role offers a unique blend of scheduled clinic hours and call coverage, allowing you to directly manage patient care in the clinic setting while also providing essential call expertise after-hours and on weekends.
Focus on Patient Care: Maintain a manageable schedule with a focus on patient interaction and clinical decision-making. Major holidays are observed, including New Year's Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Seamless Technology: Leverage your familiarity with Epic, the EMR system used at the facility.
Supportive Environment: Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- See patients in a scheduled clinic setting, conducting thorough evaluations, diagnosing vascular conditions, and developing personalized treatment plans.
- Be available by phone to address the needs of patients requiring vascular care after regular clinic hours and on weekends.
- Evaluate the need for in-person evaluation or intervention through effective phone triage.
- Provide timely and appropriate telephone consultations or arrange for patients to be seen in person if necessary.
- Participate in rounding on admitted vascular patients, collaborating with the on-site healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
- Manage patient admissions as needed (temporary privileges not available).
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Epic EMR system (credentialing permitting).
Qualifications for Success:
- Current board certification in Vascular Surgery is ;Fellowship training in vascular surgery is preferred.
- Valid medical license in the state of Pennsylvania to practice medicine without restrictions.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS to demonstrate your commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- The ability to make sound clinical decisions under time pressure is essential.
