We are seeking a dedicated Pulmonologist with Sleep Medicine expertise for a full-time locum tenens position near Idaho Falls, ID. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced physician who is looking to provide comprehensive pulmonary and sleep medicine care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Position Overview:



  • Specialty: Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine

  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call


Key Responsibilities:




  • Outpatient Care:



    • Clinic Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

    • Patient Volume: Manage approximately 16 patients per shift, providing both routine and specialized care in pulmonology and sleep medicine.

    • Diagnostic Services: Utilize onsite Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT), SHAPE (simple and complex stress tests), 6-minute walk tests, methacholine challenges, and chest X-rays to diagnose and manage pulmonary conditions.

    • Sleep Medicine: Provide specialized care for patients with sleep disorders, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and management.




  • Inpatient Care:



    • Hospital Consults: Offer pulmonary consultations for inpatient referrals, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases.

    • Procedural Services: Perform EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound), bronchoscopy, and thoracentesis as needed, utilizing advanced technology to provide high-quality care.

    • Call Coverage: Participate in call coverage to support hospital-based pulmonary services, ensuring continuity of care for both outpatient and inpatient populations.




Practice Details:



  • EMR System: Epic, utilized for both outpatient and inpatient documentation, streamlining patient management and communication.

  • Certifications Required:

    • Board Certification in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine.

    • Fellowship training in Pulmonology is required.

    • ACLS and PALS certifications are necessary for this role.



  • Licensing:

    • Must hold an active license in Idaho or be eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
